The Rockefeller Center area in midtown is a very popular destination for visitors. Area attractions include Rockefeller Center itself with its skating rink and Christmas tree, lots of shops and restaurants, Radio City Music Hall, NBC Studio tours, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and the Museum of Modern Art.
A visit to New York wouldn't be complete without seeing a Broadway show in the Theatre District, or a performance at Carnegie Hall or Lincoln Center. Nearby museums include the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum, American Craft Museum, Museum of Television and Radio, and the Sony Wonder Technology Lab. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim, Whitney Museum and many more are a short ride away.
Like to shop? Some of the world’s best shopping – Saks Fifth Avenue, Tiffany, Cartier, FAO Schwartz, Brooks Brothers and Barney’s, as well as all the designer boutiques on Fifth Avenue are a short walk away.
Central Park is also nearby. Inside the park you can discover a zoo, a castle, a reservoir, an ice skating rink, a boathouse where you can rent row boats, and plenty of trails for jogging, walking, bicycling and horseback riding. Or just enjoy all those trees in the center on the city.
Nearby neighborhoods to explore include the Upper East Side, the Upper West Side, with their brownstones and mansions.
